Get eating those walnuts! The Wonder of Walnuts
Walnuts have long been associated with looking like a brain and thereby assigned to brain health but more information has been discovered about walnut containing DHA.
There had been numerous studies on DHA but more recently a UCLA professor of Neurosurgery says that it does more than strengthen synapses in the brain and enhance learning and memory. It is critical for optimal brain health and given enough, it seems that we are then able to provoke our gene patterns back to normal over time, amazing! We can’t make DHA for ourselves so we need to search out foods rich in it, like walnuts, flaxeed (and their oils), most fruit and vegetables, seaweeds and algae.
But what is DHA? It is a naturally occurring Omega 3 fatty acid found in our brain cells but not usually in large enough quantity to help fight disease.
Herbalists also use walnuts in respect of their unripe green fruits, which are now appearing, called ‘Green Walnut Hulls’. These are invaluable for worming and parasites and appear in our ‘Walnut Wormwood & Clove’ blend. Just ask.

In the rush to smother yourself or your child in sun cream and put on the obligatory sun hat, please remember just how important vitamin D is for so many vital bodily processes! More people are deficient in this vital nutrient than ever before and believe it or not rickets is occurring in children.

Don't be afraid to give yourself and your child 15 minutes of unadulterated sunshine before you cover up (length of time varies depending on skin type). Your body will thank you for it!
